Design & manufacture of bespoke
aluminium extrusions and profiles
Because of aluminium’s natural ductility, it’s easier to shape than other metals, which in many cases need to be melted and reformed by pouring into moulds, rather than by being driven through dies to shape the metal. The lengths and starting temperature of the metal at this stage will vary depending on the specifics of the billet and the profile being made. Our significant expertise in this area allows us to create an extrusion process which is specific to your purpose and we understand how to ensure the best outcome from the extrusion process in the context of different variables.
The specifications of the die will dictate the form of the aluminium profile. Immense pressure is applied to the hot metal to drive it through the die, metalworking lubrication is applied to ease this process, and the length of aluminium is created. The measurements of the finished article are dictated by the die. As part of our capacity to create profiles which are bespoke to your needs, we can produce a mould or die for many widths of profile. Different lengths of metal can be produced once the profile has been created, with precision sawing dividing the lengths of the extruded aluminium sections into the required fragmentation. The process of division is typically used for bulk orders, where lengths of aluminium are pressed through the die to create longer stretches of the aluminium profile, which can then be broken down to create multiple items.
We can accelerate the ageing of the metal to ensure it reaches maximum tensile strength much more quickly than the natural process, meaning the highest standard of service can be created, unique to your needs and in a short time frame. This is one of the many reasons our clients keep coming back to us.
